Valorant is a new, mobile-only MOBA that has just been announced by Riot Games. The game will offer the same fast-paced combat experience found in League of Legends and other MOBAs, but with simplified controls for an even more accessible gaming experience on the go. You will be able to sign up to participate in Valorant’s mobile beta soon!

There are many games like this available for iOS and Android devices already, so why should you be excited about Valorant? Well first off it’s free to play and secondly, they’re taking steps towards making it easier for players who might not have as much time or patience to fully enjoy playing video games.

To recap, Valorant is a game that has some of the best parts of Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch. The mechanics from the former and character abilities from the latter combine to create something new.

Valorant was originally launched on PC on June 2nd, 2020. Riot Games, the creator of League of Legends (LoL), has shown interest in expanding the game to other formats which could make it playable on mobile devices. The company announced their work with Valorant Mobile as a partner that will aid them in reaching more players around the world.

Riot Games’ announcement of its mobile game, Valorant, might seem strange to some players since having a touchscreen is not as precise as using a controller on either computer or consoles.

The mobile version of the PC-only free-to-play first-person shooter is being made. It has more than 14 million players each month. However, the company did not specify when it would be available or what its features might be.

“This past year one of our top goals has to been to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community,” said Valorant executive producer Anna Donlon. “We want them to know that we will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter.”

“To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we are trying to do with Valorant is beyond what we expected. We’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive Valorant experience to even more global players.”

It’s unsurprising for Riot to give Valorant Mobile a chance. Mobile games are big business- Pokémon Go, Candy Crush, PUBG, Call of Duty, and Genshin Impact all pull in huge numbers globally every month on their respective consoles.
